Today we held our last classic qualifier event on the Elk, Torch, and Skegemog chain of lakes. Many enjoyed the perfect weather on Friday and pre-fished the water, but my how the conditions changed on Saturday. With rain starting before sunrise, it was a dismal take-off and continued grey day with a fair amount of wind. Many teams reported a tough go, but a handful of boats were able to put their fingers on the pulse of what was going on.
Top prize went to Cory Sterkenburg and Jerry Sauve, who impressed with their 23.74 lbs., which included the Big Bass of the day as well as the season, weighing in at 6.25 lbs. Second place was snagged by Jeff Homkes and (sub) Brian Hopp, who brought in 22.53 lbs. of good-looking smallies. Kyle Kempkers and Brett Haveman rounded out the top three with 20.76 lbs. Justin Bruno won the prize for 2nd place Big Bass for the 2nd fish over 6 lbs. with his 6.08 lb. smallmouth. Congratulations to the 2020 Anglers of the Year, Kyle Kempkers and Brett Haveman! Congratulations also to all the teams who qualified for, and are invited to the Classic, which will be held on the Grand River. We sincerely thank everyone who joined us for this season and hope you will continue your memberships with Shoreline Bass Tour as Scott Snellen takes over as director for the 2021 season. We are extremely happy to have him picking up where we are leaving off and have no doubt Shoreline will continue to be your first choice of a circuit! |
