Dylan Compagner Memorial - 7/2/17
What started as a picture-perfect day on the water later turned breezy, then gave way to a steady rain in the afternoon, but that didn't take away from the positive vibes felt by all as we remembered Dylan Compagner while undoubtedly fishing some of the same holes that he favored over the years.
In the end, it was Scott Hannahs and Brad Vallie who stole 1st place with an 18.14 lb. sack. Hannahs also walked away with the top prize for Big Bass with a 4.86 lb. beast. Second place was pinned down by Don Watts and Greg Mangus, who weighed in at 17.25 lbs. Watts had the 2nd biggest bass of the day at 4.48 lbs. The top 3 was rounded out by Jason Ammerman and Neil Vande Biezen, with 16.65 lbs.
We want to offer a HUGE thank you to the generous individuals and businesses who donated items for raffling and auctioning off to raise money for the Outdoor Dream Foundation, which provides outdoor adventures to children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. In just one day, we rounded up $1,930!!! Many thanks to all of you who supported the effort!
Congratulations to Todd Wabeke, who won the grand auction prize of an all-day, 2-person charter with Coach's Angle Smallmouth Charters of Traverse City. You're in for an amazing day on the waters of Northern Michigan!
