Welcome to the Shoreline Bass Home and News Page. Updated: 2-1-2012
Is it February already? With the weather yesterday, it seems more like April. B.A.S.S. classic is the end of this month and a few of us are going down to take in the festivities - and probably buy a few new lures. Speaking of new lures, there is a lot of buzz about the Alabama Rig. Whether it will really catch fish like it is being hyped remains to be seen. There has been some question to the legality of the bait here in Michigan. The following is a statement right from the DNR website that should clarify that bait for now and for those who have hooked a fish in the side while he was slashing at the bait, a note for you as well.
Hook and Line Fishing: Fish so taken must be hooked in the mouth. Fish not hooked in the mouth must be returned to the water immediately. No more than three lines per person (including tip-ups) nor more than six hooks or lures may be used. All hooks attached to an artificial bait or "night crawler harness" are counted as one hook. Hooks must be baited or attached to an artificial bait.
2012 Meeting was held this past Saturday at the Outdoorsman Pro Shop in Jenison, a big thank-you to them for their continued support. Minutes of the meeting are posted on our Rules-Forms page. Contact us if you see anything we have missed or have additions to the minutes.
There was one error on the complete listing of the local tournaments. That has been fixed and is again posted on the Schedule page. Contact us if you have others to add.
The 2012 Rules and forms are now posted. They are available here: Rules-Forms . Entry deadline will again be April 15th, 2012. We will set the early draw date this Saturday. If there are any rules changes we will post those next weekend.
There are some exciting things happening with Shoreline and you need to stay tuned to this page for breaking news as it happens. Some of our members have been busy securing some new sponsors and biggers gifts than ever before.
We would not be able to survive without our sponsors. As well as thanking them for a good year, do a little recruiting over the winter for new ones and send some Ed's way.
Shoreline Bass Tour is a closed water tournament. We only fish the waters that the tournament is designated to be on. Boundaries, when necessary, will be given during the morning team meeting. This information is posted in detail in our rules and regulations. Rules-Forms
