Muskegon Lake 7/18/20
Presented by D&R Sports
Even the best of area fishermen have struggled to find quality fish on Muskegon Lake this summer. With some of the famous spots for being reliable bets for getting a limit into the boat not showing up, it's been a frustrating couple of months. Then add to that the sweltering temperatures and relentless wind today, and you get a recipe for an unpredictable weigh-in and several teams struggling to get to that 5-count.
At the end of the day, it took 15 lbs. to win and over 12 lbs. to get into the top 10. Taking 1st place were father/son team Lee Poulin and Nate Poulin, weighing in at 15.38 lbs. Kyle Kempkers and Brett Haveman came in 2nd place with 14.87 lbs. In 3rd place were another father/son team, Grant Hendrixson and Cody Hendrixson, who weighed in at 13.83. The day's prize for Big Bass went to Dave Hocking, with a 5.12 lb. largemouth, the only one to exceed the 5-pound mark for the day.
Special THANK YOU to Darius and Louis Jackson for putting on a delicious cook-out, and especially Louis's brother George for spending several hours over a hot grill cooking burgers so it was ready when everyone came off the water. You are all greatly appreciated!
See you at Houghton Lake on 8/8/20!
